Scoop6 – 6th March – rollovers of £3,016.70 (win fund) & £32,506 (bonus fund)

Leg 1–6.45 Wolverhampton: Four renewals have slipped by since the successful inaugural market leader scored at 2/1 in 2010, though four of the five favourites have finished in the frame (exact science). The last four winners have carried a minimum burden of 9-1 whereby DAYDREAMER, UNCLE BERNIE and APOLLO ELEVEN form my value for money ‘short list’ for openers.

Leg 2–7.15 Wolverhampton (Bonus race): John Best has scored with four of the last ten horses he has saddled whereby BERRAHRI is the first name on the team sheet.  A decent winner at Kempton on Wednesday, John’s Bahri raider should figure prominently at the very least, possibly alongside the likes of MONSIEUR CHABAL and GALILEE CHAPEL.  MONSIEUR CHABAL is trained by Jamie Osborne who is back among the winners again.

Leg 3–7.35 DundalkSAGA DIAMOND has been given a decent draw on her handicap debut and it’s worth noting that she is already attracting support on the exchanges with realistic ‘prices’ being sought in the positive queue.  Others of interest include fellow well drawn types such as TWISTSANDTURNS and CHEERS BUDDY who are both course and distance winners.

Leg 4–7.45 Wolverhampton:  Just the one favourite has prevailed via five contests to date, with the last four gold medallists have humped at least nine stones to victory.  The weight stats suggest that KINGS BAYONET should take the beating, though NEW YEAR’S NIGHT and course and distance winner PERCYS PRINCESS could upset the cart in terms of the trends.  The latter named raider is saddled by Michael Appleby who is the only represented trainer to have saddled a winner of this race to date (last year).

Leg 5–8.05 DundalkFive-year-olds have won three of the six renewals to date in this second division of the previous Scoop6 Dundalk event this week. Five of the nine favourites have finished in the frame, statistics which include two winners.   Course and distance winners BEAT THE BALLOT and NOVERRE PRINCESS are well berthed, whilst FORBIDDEN CITY is another runner which could take full advantage of a positive stall position.  The pick of the trio of five-year-olds on this occasion should prove to be VICTOR’S BEACH who is not too badly housed in stall eight.

Leg 6–8.35 Dundalk:  Horses carrying 9-1 or less have claimed four of the six available win and place positions via just two contests to date, stats which include both (25/1 & 8/1) winners.  The claimer aboard THE DANCING LORD takes the six-year-old into the ‘superior’ sector of the weights, albeit the ‘trend’ in brief in the extreme!  With little else to work with (apart from the fact that The Dancing Lord has won on four of his last five starts) I will adhere to the figures, adding ROSE ANGEL and OUR MAX to the mix.
